Bueng Kan Provincial Red Cross Chapter serves as the regional representative of Thai Red Cross Society, with missions to provide assistance to disaster victims, blood services, eye and other organ donations, social welfare and quality of life improvement, promotion of Red Cross youth activities, Red Cross volunteers, and various activities of Thai Red Cross Society.

There is a need to purchase an automatic blood bag shaker and weighing scale for Bueng Kan Hospital from Bueng Kan Provincial Red Cross Chapter for the fiscal year 2025. This will ensure the acquisition of quality, standardized blood with weight and volume meeting the standards of Thai Red Cross Society, providing sufficient blood for patient treatment requests within eight districts of Bueng Kan Province and neighboring provinces.

Bueng Kan Provincial Red Cross Chapter operates according to the missions of Thai Red Cross Society in blood services, collaborating with the blood bank of Bueng Kan Hospital to conduct regular monthly blood drives. This involves proactive outreach, mobile unit campaigns to raise awareness, and recruitment of blood donors to meet the needs of patients within Bueng Kan Province and neighboring provinces. Currently, blood donation drives use standard weighing scales that cannot consistently shake the blood bags, hindering staff efficiency. This can result in blood collection being too much or too little, impacting both the donor and the quality of blood for patients.

Objective

1.       Bueng Kan Provincial Red Cross Chapter and Bueng Kan Hospital will have automatic blood bag shakers and weighing scales for use in mobile blood donation units.

2.       To ensure sufficient blood supply for patient treatment in Bueng Kan Province and neighboring provinces.

Budget

      Purchase of 5 automatic blood bag shakers and weighing scales, at 120,000 baht per unit, totaling 600,000 baht (six hundred thousand baht).
