The ill
monks at Wat Tha Prachum Temple, located in Ban Don Du, Nong Bua
Subdistrict, Fang District, Khon Kaen Province, currently lack an Automated
External Defibrillator (AED). An AED would be crucial in saving lives
during sudden cardiac arrest while awaiting emergency medical teams to
transport patients to the provincial hospital for further treatment.
The Chiwaphiban Kuti (monks'
living quarters dedicated to care) at Wat Tha Prachum Temple in Ban Don Du,
Nong Bua Subdistrict, Fang District, Khon Kaen Province, serves as a shelter
and care facility for ill monks. It is one of four model temples for
establishing Chiwaphiban Kutis, known as the "Tha Prachum Model."
This facility has been operational since December 2023, a collaborative effort
between the Karunruk Palliative Care Center, Khon Kaen University, and the
Monks' Hospital, Department of Medical Services. They provide palliative care
for terminally ill monks but are still lacking budget to procure crucial
medical equipment, specifically an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The Khon Kaen Provincial Red Cross Chapter, representing Thai Red Cross Society in promoting the quality of life for people in Khon Kaen Province, has therefore initiated a project to procure an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the Chiwaphiban Kuti at Wat Tha Prachum Temple, Ban Don Du, Nong Bua Subdistrict, Fang District, Khon Kaen Province. This project aims to enhance healthcare for ill monks in the Khon Kaen area.
The
budget for procuring one Automated External Defibrillator (AED) with a stand
cabinet is 75,000 Baht.
