A "Plasma
Thawing Machine" is a vital tool that enables medical professionals to
prepare blood and blood components to save the lives of critically ill
patients—ensuring speed, safety, and the highest quality standards.
The Trat Provincial
Red Cross Chapter, representing the Thai Red Cross Society in the region,
is dedicated to disaster relief, providing blood services, organ and eye
donation, social welfare, improving quality of life, and promoting Red Cross
youth and volunteer activities.
Blood
procurement is a core mission of the Trat Provincial Red Cross, carried out in
coordination with Trat Hospital and relevant agencies. Currently, the Trat
Hospital Blood Bank and the Provincial Red Cross operate mobile units to
educate the public and organize blood drives. This ensures a sufficient supply
of high-quality blood to meet the needs of patients in Trat and neighboring
provinces, in accordance with Thai Red Cross Society standards.
Donated blood
must undergo various processes before it is ready for clinical use. Therefore,
a Plasma Thawing Machine is essential for preparing blood components for
patients requiring Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) and Cryoprecipitate (Cryo). These
are critical components in treating emergency cases and patients with bleeding
disorders.
To meet this need, the Trat Provincial Red Cross Chapter seeks to procure a plasma thawing machine for Trat Hospital. This essential equipment will empower physicians to prepare blood components rapidly and safely, ensuring that the blood products maintain the weight and quality standards set by both the Thai Red Cross Society and international medical guidelines for patients in Trat and the surrounding areas.
To equip Trat Hospital with a plasma thawing machine for the treatment of emergency cases and patients with bleeding disorders, while addressing challenges and improving efficiency in blood procurement and blood component preparation.
