As
a leading premier tertiary care hospital and a "final hope" for the
public, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, provides
specialized care for critical and complex cases from every corner of the
nation. With over 500 patients arriving daily, the unwavering commitment of our
medical teams is to treat and return every patient safely home.
While
our medical personnel possess world-class expertise, the availability of
sufficient and modern medical equipment remains the most critical factor in
saving lives. With a steadily increasing number of patients, our existing
life-saving equipment is no longer enough to cover every critical area across
our wards.
Currently,
King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital operates over 1,400 beds and numerous
specialized inpatient wards. Inpatient care is the heart of our healthcare
mission; however, during recovery, some patients may experience "Sudden
Cardiac Arrest." This can strike at any second without warning, even
under close medical supervision.
Statistics
show that for every minute that passes without defibrillation following cardiac
arrest, the chance of survival drops by 7–10%. If more than 10 minutes
pass, the chance of survival falls nearly to zero.
In
these critical moments, CPR alone may not be enough. If the heart is in a
severe arrhythmia (irregular rhythm), receiving an electric shock from a Defibrillator
within the first 3–5 minutes can increase survival rates to 50–70%. Having a
Defibrillator ready and available in every ward is vital. This device is the
frontline defense that transforms a moment of loss into an opportunity for a
new beginning.
Thai
Red Cross Society invites you to be a vital force in our mission. We are
seeking donations to procure 8 Defibrillators to be permanently
stationed in our inpatient wards, enhancing the life-saving capabilities of
King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.
Our
goal is to ensure that when an emergency occurs, this equipment is ready for
immediate use. We want to ensure that for every patient, the word "home"
is never a distant hope—but a reality.
Because every donation you make allows a heart to
keep beating.
