Lamphun
Provincial Red Cross Chapter serves as a vital sanctuary for the
people of Lamphun. Our mission encompasses disaster relief, social welfare,
improving quality of life, promoting Red Cross Youth and volunteer activities,
organ donation recruitment, and—most crucially—Blood Services. We act as
a "Bridge of Merit," delivering life-saving blood and a better
quality of life to our community.
Every month, Lamphun Red Cross, in
collaboration with Lamphun Hospital, conducts proactive outreach missions. We
deploy mobile units across all 8 districts of Lamphun province, reaching
out to faithful donors in their local areas to provide education and ensure a
sufficient blood supply for patients—not only within Lamphun but also for
neighboring areas in need.
Despite the dedication of our
donors, our staff must work with absolute precision and against the clock.
Currently, our mobile units still rely on "manual blood scales,"
which have significant limitations: they cannot automatically and consistently
shake the blood bags. If the blood volume collected is too high or too low, it
can physically impact the donor. Furthermore, if the blood does not mix
properly with the anticoagulant, the blood quality diminishes, rendering it
less effective for patient treatment. This is a major hurdle our teams face during
every mobile mission.
Driven by the commitment to maintain
blood quality according to Thai Red Cross Society standards, Lamphun Provincial
Red Cross Chapter urgently needs to procure 3 Automatic Blood Collection
Monitors with Mixers for the 2026 fiscal year. At a cost of 175,000 THB
per unit (totaling 525,000 THB), these devices will ensure that every unit
of blood donated by the people of Lamphun meets perfect international standards
for weight and volume. This equipment allows our staff to work with confidence
and ensures maximum safety for our donors.
"We believe that the noble
intentions of our donors deserve the highest standard of care, ensuring that
only quality blood is passed on to the lives waiting for it."
