In tertiary healthcare, many critical conditions cannot rely on manual drip counting, as even the slightest discrepancy can be life-threatening:

·         Shock and Sepsis: Patients require vasopressors to maintain steady blood pressure. Interrupting the medication for just 1–2 minutes can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, leading to organ failure.

·         Heart Failure and Cardiovascular Conditions: Medications that support heart pumping must be calculated strictly by body weight in micrograms—an accuracy level achievable only through an infusion pump.

·         Cancer Treatment: Chemotherapy drugs are highly cytotoxic and must be administered strictly according to specific protocols to maximize efficacy while minimizing side effects.

·         Pediatric and Neonatal Patients: Due to their fragile bodies, an excess fluid intake of just 5–10 mL can immediately cause pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) and heart failure.
