Thai Red Cross Rehabilitation Center
provides comprehensive, specialized care for patients who have lost their
mobility, led by a dedicated team of rehabilitation physicians and physical
therapists. Each year, the center serves an average of 10,000 to 12,000
inpatients and outpatients requiring physical rehabilitation. The majority are
elderly individuals recovering from strokes, as well as bone and joint injuries.
With a high daily volume of patients undergoing physical and occupational
therapy, current equipment is no longer sufficient to meet everyone's needs
effectively.
In 2026, the center is launching a
project to acquire pneumatic (air-resistance) exercise equipment designed to
minimize joint impact and ensure safety for the elderly. This specialized
machinery focuses on training "walking and balance," featuring a
digital Barthel Index assessment system that allows medical teams and families
to track each patient's progress clearly.
With a fundraising goal of 2,000,000
THB, this initiative will empower 500 to 800 patients each year to regain their
independence in daily life and reduce hospital readmissions.
Thai Red Cross Society invites you
to donate toward purchasing this pneumatic exercise equipment, helping elderly
and recovering patients step forward and walk independently once again.
