Many children suffer from learning loss due to school closure during the COVID19 pandemic. On 5 June 2020, Thai Red Cross Society has launched literacy empowerment project to support Ministry of Education of Thailand and Border Patrol Police Bureau.
Thai Red Cross Society in collaboration with Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation, Equitable Education Fund (EEF), Kasetsart University (KU), King Monkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), and Ramajitti Institute founded “Thai Literacy Empowerment Taskforce” to develop learning methodologies, tools, and guidelines to support Thai Red Cross Provincial Chapters and local educational authorities in improving learning capacity of the children with poor literacy. Many volunteers were mobilized and trained to provide supplementary education to the children.
Besides, Chairpersons of Thai Red Cross Provincial Chapters and local educators visited many schools to help improve facilities and environment. Many learning kits were also handed over to the underprivileged children.
This project was funded by public donation thru Thai Red Cross Society. Thanks to the chairpersons of the provincial chapters and district branches who play an important role in this fundraising campaign. You can also make a great support to learning empowerment of the children with your kind financial contribution to this project.
